National Volunteer Week, part 5

Meredith S2We are continuing to feature some great volunteers and next up is Meredith Sinclair.

Meredith is one of our Master Babywearing Educators (MBE), a Higher Accreditation Regional Director, Chair of the Regional Director Committee, and is on the Research Committee. She is also co-founder and current co-leader of BWI of New Haven.

Beth Harney Rosa described Meredith as “…a compassionate and passionate educator, and a first class volunteer.  She has started two chapters personally, is a long-time moderator on TheBabywearer.com (TBW) and absolutely rocks as the Regional Director Committee Chair.  As a chapter officer in her former region, I appreciate the way she works with chapters, and as a new MBE, I appreciate her personal support during the process.  She gives so much to our organization, the babywearing community, and my personal journey within BWI.”

Meredith S1

Meredith has been wearing since her oldest was born because she does not care for toting around a lot of gear. She has worn all of her children, who range in age from 6 years to 10 months. She believes that babywearing is an essential part of her parenting.

Meredith got involved with BWI because she was seeking out “real life” babywearing friends (having been a part of TBW since she was pregnant with her first). She brought back a local babywearing group – Triangle Babywearers – and her role in the group evolved to include her professional background as an educator. She and her group affiliated with BWI in 2011 as BWI of the Triangle.

Meredith really loves helping new wearers find the perfect carrier whatever their reason for needing/wanting to wear. She loves getting the message out to the larger community, which is why she is such a great fit for BWI. You can find Meredith at BWI of New Haven chapter meetings!
