2015 Sponsorship Opportunities
International Babywearing Week (IBW) is an annual outreach event sponsored by Babywearing International (BWI). It is a week-long opportunity to celebrate, advocate for, and focus media attention on the many benefits of babywearing. In 2014 more than 200 Official Celebrating Organizations participated in online and in-person events around the globe! The dates for International Babywearing Week 2015 will be October 4-10.
BWI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with nearly 100 affiliated chapters and 750 educators and volunteers working in local communities across the United States. In 2014 our chapters had approximately 5,800 paid supporting members and reached an estimated 100,000 parents and caregivers. In addition to International Babywearing week our other national programs include the International Babywearing Conference and TheBabywearer.com (the premier online forum for babywearing enthusiasts).
Babywearing International relies on generous sponsors to make International Babywearing Week a success. Sponsorship donations may be cash or in-kind donations of baby carriers, related accessories, and other merchandise (non-babywearing items are eligible for Giveaway Sponsorship level only). In-kind donations will be used at the sole discretion of BWI for distribution to our member chapters, as prizes for International Babywearing Week contests, to support the International Babywearing Week Awards, or for other promotional purposes determined by Babywearing International and the International Babywearing Week Committee.
The Benefits of IBW Sponsorship include:
- Reaching an international audience of babywearing educators and enthusiasts
- Being seen as a generous supporter of the largest annual international babywearing event
- Exclusive recognition on the Babywearing International website, IBW social media, and TheBabywearer.com as well as a special sponsorship graphic only available to official IBW sponsors
- Possible tax deduction
All sponsors will receive exclusive “International Babywearing Week Sponsor” graphics to use on their own website and social media.
Platinum Sponsor ($1500 of which at least $500 must be cash)
Gold Sponsor ($1000)
Silver Sponsor ($500)
Bronze Sponsor ($250)
Sponsors at the Bronze level and above will receive recognition on the International Babywearing Week Facebook group (700+ members in 2014 and expected to grow), International Babywearing Week Facebook page (8,000+ likes in 2014), the International Babywearing Week section of TheBabywearer.com, and the International Babywearing Week Sponsors section of the BWI website. Higher level sponsors will receive more prominent, frequent, and/or individualized recognition in proportion with the size of their donation.
Additionally Platinum and Gold Sponsors will receive recognition on the main BWI Facebook Page (50,000+ likes) and free banner advertising on TheBabywearer.com (70,000 users) during International Babywearing Week.
Giveaway Sponsor ($100)
Giveaway Sponsors provide products to be distributed in online giveaways and contests for babywearing groups and the general public. This can be one or more baby carriers or multiple smaller items of interest to babywearing enthusiasts (toys, bath and body products, babywearing accessories, wrap scrap items, etc.). Donations must be shipped directly to winners at the address specified by BWI. Giveaway sponsors will be announced in conjunction with the giveaway and will be thanked on the IBW Sponsors page. Giveaways are limited to the US only due to international sweepstake regulations. Giveaway Sponsorship can be a standalone sponsorship or may be combined with other sponsorships.
Award Sponsors ($100 and up)
Award Sponsors provide products and/or cash to be awarded to the winners of the International Babywearing Week Awards. Previous award categories have included the “The Jennifer Rosenberg Babywearing Advocate of the Year Award,” “The Vijay Owens Babywearing Advocacy Award for Lifetime Achievement in Promoting Babywearing,” “Best Babywearing Outreach Program,” “Best Blog or Website,” “BWI Volunteer of the Year”. For 2015 we are considering offering awards specifically for non-US babywearers and welcome partnerships with non-US businesses to develop, promote, and support these awards. Award Sponsors will be recognized in conjunction with the solicitation of nominations and the announcement of award recipients as well as on the IBW Sponsors page of the BWI website. Contact email@example.com to discuss options.
A Note for International Sponsors: We recognize that International Babywearing Week is a worldwide celebration and we encourage participation by babywearers, vendors, and manufacturers around the globe! However, as a US-based organization we must take care to follow US laws and regulations. All product donations must meet applicable US consumer product and safety standards and be available for sale legally in the United States. Beginning in 2015 all BWI-hosted giveaways and social media parties will be restricted to US participants due to international sweepstakes laws. However, we encourage international businesses and groups to hold their own IBW giveaways and contests. International contest sponsors will be able to register with IBW, allowing them to promote their contest on the official IBW social media platforms and use the IBW logo graphics in conjunction with their giveaway.
