Newborn Front Wrap Cross Carry

This video by Kathy Heffern shows how to do Front Wrap Cross Carry with a newborn.  This carry is also known as the Kangaroo Hold in the Moby Wrap directions. This video includes a good description of newborn legs out positioning as well as technique for tightening a stretchy wrap (includes both tightening while lifting baby's weight off of the wrap and strand by strand tightening).


Nursing a Newborn in Pocket Wrap Cross Carry

Hip Carry


Hip Wrap Cross Carry with a Toddler

This video by Rachel of BWI of Southern Maryland shows how to do a safe, supportive hip carry with a Moby Wrap and a heavier baby/toddler. Hip wrap cross carry is basically the same as front wrap cross carry, just shifted to the hip.  A hip carry can be done in a stretchy wrap when the caregiver is naturally carrying baby on the hip (typically around 4-6 months old).
