The new juno is the result of many years of research. First tested out on a pilot group, the juno received favorable reviews and positive feedback, prompting Mountain Buggy to roll out the juno in 2016. The juno quickly gained popularity, due to its no-fuss, easy to use nature, allowing more times for bonding and experiencing life. No wonder the juno carrier won The Cribsie Academy Star Award for “Comfiest Carrier” 2016.
Mountain Buggy has generously sponsored quite a few of these amazing carriers for our BWI chapters nationwide, and my chapter, BWI of Colorado Springs was one of the lucky ones. I had the opportunity to try the juno recently and absolutely loved it.
From the stitching to the high-quality, baby-safe materials used to make it, I can tell a lot of research has gone into the creation of the juno. It is easy to clean and comes in four different colors — sand, black, charcoal and nautical.
This multi-functional carrier allows for four positions — rear, front, side and back – and is designed to deliver the very best ergonomics in all carrying modes, for both you and your child. The pricing, while might be on the higher end ($179.99) compared to other carriers, it is the ‘one-and-done’ type of carrier, which means it is a carrier that will take you from the newborn stage all the way to toddlerhood.
Not only that, the juno infant insert — which provides padded head, neck and spine support for complete infant comfort and ergonomic positioning — is included in your purchase, which means you would not need to purchase one at additional cost.
The 3D mesh padded shoulder straps and waistband provide cushioned weight distributing support for a comfortable, breathable carry, which is great if you have back issues like I do.
I absolutely love the two retractable, tailored storage pockets which is big enough for your phone or a small wallet. The low outer pocket for comfort-holding is my absolute favorite – the hands through connection pouch provides a natural and connected carry. All you have to do is slide your hands in to support your baby from the bottom and it feels like you’re hugging them. They are also great to keep your hands warm, especially when it’s cold outside.
The juno carrier meets all the TICKS recommendations, and is lightweight yet sturdy, making it easy to store and take with you on the go. Not only that, the juno comes with a retractable hood which you can use as sun cover or to support child’s head especially when they are sleeping.
Mountain Buggy has also come out with the gel cooler pack which you can use with the juno to keep cool in warm weather. Having lived in Savannah where it can be hot and muggy, I love carriers that allows for breathability when wearing so the gel cooler pack is a great add-on option you can use while babywearing.
I truly am excited to see what Mountain Buggy has to offer us in the future. Having read more about the company, I love that they are dedicated to bringing options for caregivers who want to tackle life’s problems head-on. The juno carrier allows you to care for your child and be out living life at the same time. Win-win, right?
